I Knit

So, this Christmas, I decided (like many Christmases before) to make homemade gifts. This year seemed especially the time for it though because of the state of the economy. However, most other years I start these projects around the end of October, early November, to get them done on time, but I lose my focus or I give up and poop out before I even finish one.

But this year is different. This is the year I learned to knit. I cringed as I bought a $15 knitting loom set and about $10 more worth of yarn. This year, however.. I have completed 8 hats and am now moving on to bigger and better things.. household items (towels, washcloths) a tote bag, and who knows what in the future! Even doing some fancy stitches!

I feel like an old lady sometimes, sitting on the couch knitting while watching This Old House or Antiques Road Show. But you know.. it's fun. Knitting - Is - Fun. I said it. There's some kind of satisfaction you get out of making something so neat with a strand of yarn, a hoop with pegs, and a little hook. It also means a lot to give them to other people, who also appreciate them. There's nothing better than seeing the hats I made be worn every day and being told about the compliments they've received.

Here are pictures of 3 of them that I've done. This doesn't include the boys' hats, but they're not as cute as these ones are!

Halloweeeeeeen!!!!!!!!!!

So this year was one excellent Halloween. On Friday night, we all went over to Terral and Mary's house for a party, which consisted of food, games, and ensuing silliness. Heavy on the silliness.

Saturday followed with my first ever murder mystery dinner! It was a lot of fun and everyone played their parts so well. It was also fun to be the one murdered =D. After that we played a game called "body! body!", a pretty intense lights-off game. What you do is have everyone draw a card (can also be little pieces of paper or whatever) with one marked differently, such as the joker card. Whoever draws the one that's different is the murderer, and when the lights go off, they run around "killing" people. If someone runs into a body they call out "BODY BODY!" and the lights go on and everyone tries to figure out who the murderer is, and accusations and alibis run rampant!

The picture is of the parts we all played for the murder mystery.

Well well well...

So Heather talked me into this...

I decided, oh what the heck? Not like I have anything better to do for the time being.

The only problem is pictures. Just like Heather, I hardly ever take my camera anywhere! So for now I guess I'll just post whatever random pictures I have on the computer, haha.

Hopefully more to come!
